Our next event for Merchants is SITT 2012. There are two SITT events:
Monday 27 February

Wednesday 29 February
HAC, London
We will showcase a hand-picked selection of leading wineries and agencies dedicated to serving the independent sector. This is a unique opportunity to select your wine range from a broad spectrum of producers who are truly passionate about the wines they make and the independent merchants, restaurateurs and hoteliers they supply.
With 54 exhibiting companies across 76 tasting tables, SITT is a ‘must-do' in the calendar of Independent on and off trade buyers as well as journalists looking for wines with a great story to tell.
We also have 2 seminars booked in so far (times yet to be confirmed). These are;
A Blueprint to Success
Award-winning independent wine merchants and restaurateurs will share the secrets of their success to all those attending SITT next year. During ‘A Blueprint for Success' seminar you will be able to hear first-hand from leading independent wine merchants, restaurateurs and business consultants on what they see as the key steps that help an independent business stand out on a competitive high street.
Speakers include Jane Cuthbertson of Barrica Wines in Preston; Ben Stephenson of Hanging Ditch in Manchester; and John Dammone of Salvo's Italian restaurant in Leeds, who will all be appearing at the Manchester SITT tasting . In London the Blueprint for Success line -up includes wine consultant Tim Wildman MW of Les Caves de Pyrene and Winetec, as well as wine merchants and restaurateurs.
Harpers Best Practice Guidelines
Both SITT events will also include a seminar updating the trade on the Harpers Best Practice Guidelines for supplying independents. This will look at, with the help of merchants and suppliers, why the guidelines were set up and how they are now being implemented, and how merchants can get involved in the project.
